WHAT THE - ?
Yeah, that's what I said, too. This is a statue in Oslo, if that explains anything. The babies are attacking this guy, right? And he's just defending himself, like anybody would. Click here for "Strange Statues Around the World," a blog specializing in same, with 90(?) photos of eccentric statues hither and yon. Your eyes will bulge.
Perhaps I can also interest you in the website of the ZEPHYROS WINDS, my brother Doug's woodwind quintet. Check it out, it's good. Read their bios, look at their pictures, buy their recordings, go to their concerts, hire them. Tell them Big Steve sent you, and hear their derisive laughter.
Oh my goodness, I'm so exhausted from giving you these two links. I can't go on...
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the weird sculpture link. What great public art!! Sure beats the usual allegorical figures, personifications of virtues and highly romanticized historical personages one usually sees. The early Bremen fountain with all the ladies spouting water from their breats was a particular favorite, as was the suspended rhino, the woman emerging from the brick paving and the figure atop the large spouting semi-arch. Very cool. Thanks, Steve, for pointing out this blog site.

Hey, Paul, you're welcome! EVERYBODY'S welcome (you know who you are -- no, no, don't thank me now, it's too late). I'm particularly partial to the upside-down guy in Australia, and the various ones of people emerging from the ground. You've got to love that all of these were designed to be WEIRD, and make people laugh.

Scroll down on that site and read the dumb (from both sides) bickering about "art."
