Particularly fine front page on the NY Post today, though not garish enough, with a surprising lack of exclamation points:
"REST IN PIECES
Revealed: Evil body snatchers' House of Horrors
Four fiendish ghouls desecrated the dead by carving up more than a thousand corpses in a secret operating room and harvesting their often-diseased organs for medical use."
This happened in Brooklyn over the past four years. The owner of a New Jersey biomedical firm and a prominent Brooklyn mortician were the brains behind this revolting scam "involving at least 17 funeral homes." ALISTAIR COOKE'S was among the bodies they plundered! They occasionally removed bones and replaced them with plastic plumbing pipes, to hold the bodies together! A few more choice phrases from the story:
"Once their gruesome task was done..."
"Purloined parts..."
"Something out of a cheap horror movie..."
That's all. Plus this famous photo of ED GEIN.
